Kwenderana Partnership Group (2)

In June 2007, four members of the Kwenderana Group of Churches visited Ekwendeni in Northern Malawi. They included Angela Marshall and Graeme Mill from Busby Parish Church.

Since then there have been a further visit to Busby from Nicholas Chihana, Head Teacher of Ekwendeni Primary School and Logan Kumwenda, Head Teacher of the School for the Blind both of whom stayed with Angela Marshall.

The current project which is being undertaken by the Kwenderana Group of Churches is to build a teacher`s house and two classrooms for Ekwendeni Primary School. There is a concert by Paisley Philharmonic Choir and the pupils of Williamwood Secondary School on 4th October to raise funds for this very worthwhile project.

A twinning covenant has been drawn up and it is hoped that it will be signed simultaneously in all the Kwenderana Churches and in Ekwendeni on Sunday 15th November 2009.
